JOB OVERVIEW: The Executive Pastor of Discipleship is a trusted, pastoral leader who serves the Church by ensuring that all ministries are growing toward the same end; for River Stone Fellowship to be a Jesus-centered family, making disciples who reach the world with the Gospel, through worship, community, mission, and multiplication. He is not a corporate manager, but a called shepherd—marked by humility, clarity, and faithfulness—who helps bring order, focus, and fruitfulness to the life of the Church.
He partners closely with the Lead Pastor and Elders in shepherding the body and guiding the Church’s direction, while also giving specific oversight to the leadership and development of the staff, the integration of ministries, and the intentional movement of people from connection to maturity. He works alongside the Pastor of
Operations to ensure that the ministry is sustainable and supported, and he leads by equipping others, not by doing everything himself.
This is a pastoral role, rooted in Scripture, grounded in relationships, and driven by the mission of Jesus.

About River Stone Fellowship
River Stone Fellowship is a Jesus-centered family, making disciples who reach the world with the Gospel. We are located in Nixa, Missouri, led by four Elders (Lead Pastor, Operations Pastor, and two lay elders) and supported by a part-time staff team, including our Worship Director, Director of River Stone Kids, Director of River Stone Students, and River Stone 56ers Director (5th and 6th grades). Five deacons also serve faithfully in specific areas of ministry.

Each Sunday we gather for Christ-exalting worship and the preaching of God’s Word, but discipleship at River Stone is more than Sundays. Our Large Group worship gatherings, LifeGroups that meet throughout the week, DGroups for intentional disciple-making, and our local and global missions efforts and partnerships together form a pathway to help every generation know the Gospel and grow in maturity in Christ. Ministries for kids, students, and adults are aligned to this pathway, equipping both members and attenders to love and follow Jesus in everyday life.
